With only one more month to go before 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Brazil, Astro has organized yet another media event/briefing for the tournament yesterday. In general, this particular event serves as a continuation to the initial FIFA World Cup launch that Astro has held back in November 2013.
Hence, most of the announcements that Astro has made at the World Cup briefing yesterday have been teased back at the initial briefing in November. Just that this time around, more lights have been shed on them including the actual pricing for the Football Pass will allow Astro customers without Sports Pack or SuperPack as well as NJOI owners to view World Cup broadcast.
So, it turns out that the price of Astro Football Pack for the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup will be RM 100. Included in the Football Pass is the access to all 64 live World Cup matches over 10 dedicated channels with five of them being HD channels and the rest on standard definition.
Additionally, there’s also the ability to watch all those matches on Astro On The Go app together with the new Astro Go 2014 FIFA World Cup app and web player. Not enough with that, there are also around 100 hours worth of FIFA World Cup on-demand contents for Football Pass holders that are on connected PVR box and Astro On The Go app.
From what we’ve seen at the launch event yesterday, Astro is going big with the upcoming World Cup in Brazil as not only that customers are able to view the tournament on TV as per usual but also on mobile devices and web. The company has also come out with several mobile apps to further enhance the viewing experience of World Cup for their customers.
We’ll discuss more about these apps very soon, so stay tuned.
