The Sony Xperia Z2 hasn’t even been completely released around the world yet but it looks like rumors and leaks of the Xperia Z2 compact has already started. A device named Sony Xperia A2 was recently published into a Japanese brochure and it looks like it could be the Xperia Z2 Compact, a smaller and but yet powerful version of the flagship smartphone from the Japanese company.
Unfortunately, do take this leak with a pinch of salt because based on the specs, it’s hard to tell if it’s indeed a Z2 Compact or just a Japanese variant of the Xperia Z1 Compact. Shared on the ATRPG blog, the Sony Xperia A2 is a tiny bit larger measuring at 128 x 65 x 9.6mm, and features the same 4.3” 720p display. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor (unconfirmed) with 2GB of RAM on board and has 16GB of built-in storage. While not mentioned in the brochure, the Z2 Compact/ Xperia A2 is expected to pack the same water and dust resistant body, and a 20.7MP camera at the back.
According to the brochure, the Xperia A2 will be available in a range of attractive colors including Gray Black, White, Lavender and Orange. Sony Xperia Z2 Compact / A2 anyone? Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Sony will release the Xperia Z2 here in Malaysia soon.
