While Xiaomi has finally announced its official arrival into our market earlier today, the Chinese manufacturer didn’t mentioned anything regarding its device though. Xiaomi Malaysia did stated that it will reveal more information regarding its offerings in our market soon but somehow, it chooses not to do so today.
That being said, it turns out that one of first product that Xiaomi might launch in Malaysia is the 5-inch Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone. This is due to it being listed on SIRIM’s database.
Appearing as a device with model no 2013062 which is the same model number as per China Unicom’s Mi 3, the device was apparently registered by Xiaomi Malaysia Sdn Bhd (probably Xiaomi’s official business name for its Malaysian office) and approved by SIRIM today. We expect Xiaomi Malaysia to reveal more information regarding this particular device very soon but just for your information, the Xiaomi Mi 3 16GB model is currently priced at SGD 339 (RM 880) in Singapore.
So, how much do you think that Xiaomi will price the 5-inch full HD quad-core smartphone in Malaysia? Personally, I don’t think it will be far off from what our Southern neighbours are currently paying for it but you never know…
