EDIT: Official Prices State that the Leica T will retail for US$1,850 body only
Thanks to a little slip up behind the scenes, we managed to get a glimpse of the upcoming APS-C system from Leica, the Leica T. From what we can see in the data that was actually saved before the takedown, it looks like the Leica T could be the best non M system Leica camera yet. According to sources at LaVidaLeica, the Leica T has a 16.5MP APS-C sensor and supports the new T lenses from Leica. Initially, the T lenses that will be offered will be a Vario-Elmar T 18-56mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH and 23mm Summicron T f2 ASPH.
The Leica T also has support for M mount lenses with adapter and also supports the 6-bit coding on some of them. The T in the name stands for Touchscreen, a 3.7Inch LCD one to be exact and it also has 16GB BUILT IN memory, is WiFi enabled and will shoot at 5fps and 1080p/30fps video. The Leica T is definitely no slouch specs wise and if we talk about looks, it’s on a whole new level than its rebadged cameras. Hasselblad really need to take a page out of this book for their devices.
The Leica T will most likely be priced at US$3,000 for the body and US$4,000 with a lens.
