Microsoft sold five million Xbox One consoles as of March 2014, which is up 60 percent over the Xbox 360 at the same point in time. Titanfall has also managed to make it to the top of the sales race for both PC and Xbox One, although those two statistics combined were not enough to overhaul the PlayStation 4’s massive lead.Xbox One sold some 311,000 unit in the US last month, represented a massive increase over the previous generation. Microsoft also sold the most games at 4.7 million copies, although this number combines both Xbox One and Xbox 360 sales.
Sony had earlier announced that the PlayStation 4 has sold more than seven million units worldwide in March, giving the Japanese company a significant lead over Microsoft. The difference in sales is not very surprising considering that the Xbox One is not available in all international markets, while the PlayStation 4 can be found practically anywhere.
Titanfall was the top selling game for March, although PlayStation 4 exclusive InFamous: Second Son followed close behind. It would appear that the PlayStation is doing extremely well, despite not having what is arguably the biggest title in the gaming scene at the moment.
