A US carrier has begun seeding the Android 4.4.3 update for Nexus 5 devices, ahead of any official announcement by Google. Interestingly, the carrier, Sprint, does not detail much in the OTA update in its changelog.
In its changelog, the update seeded by Sprint – carrying the build number KTU84F – appears to include just two items:
- Enable Sprint Spark band 26 and band 41
- Misc Android updates
While it appears there isn’t much to go about to indicate that the update is indeed the 4.4.3 update, it has been rumoured that Android 4.4.3 will be merely a “bug fix” update, quashing known bugs from WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity issues to issues more specific to the Nexus 5, such as improved camera performance (and of course, that camera bug on the Nexus 5).
Of course, even though this update is limited to Nexus 5 devices within the Sprint network, it will mean that Android 4.4.3 is edging closer to everyone else.
