As some of you might aware, Microsoft is no longer providing support for Windows XP and Office 2003 starting from yesterday onwards. This means that both software will no longer receive updates or fixes from Microsoft and that might spell trouble to companies especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) out there that have yet to move away from both software.
To benefit such organizations, Microsoft Malaysia together with TM and Intel Malaysia have launched a trade-in program called “Good Bye XP, Good Buy Windows 8” to help them migrate to Windows 8 and Office 365.
Available for any SMEs that are also TM’s customers, the program is said to offer savings of up to RM 600 per device. This program also involves selected Intel-based PCs and tablet by Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo with each of these device are pre-installed with Windows 8/8.1 (Windows 7 Professional downgrade option is available in certain devices) and Office 365 Pro Plus subscription for 1-year as standard.
To all business owners that are interested to participate in this program, all they need to do is bring their latest TM bills to one of TM SME BizFest seminars for verification. Alternatively, they are also able to do so during TM SME BizFiesta roadshows at TMpoint and TMpoint Authorized Dealers throughout the country.

However, do note that this offer is only applicable to brands that are participating in this program. That basically means the trade-in can only be done for old notebooks or desktop PCs made by Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Additionally, the amount of computers that each organization are able to trade-in through this program are limited to only 25 devices per company.
Not to forget, the Good Bye XP, Good Buy Windows 8 trade-in program will only last until 30 June 2014. For the list of TM SME BizFest and TM SME BizFiesta dates, check it out at www.tm.com.my/tmsme.
