A low-end BlackBerry device, codenamed “Kopi”, has been extensively leaked on a Vietnamese forum. Virtually every angle of the “Kopi” has been snapped, including the removable battery, and even side by side with the BlackBerry Q5.
This isn’t the first time the Kopi has appeared online: BGR first caught wind of this low-end BB back in September last year. Designed to be cheaper than the BlackBerry Q5, the Kopi is said to be running on a faster processor and feature a removable battery. This budget QWERTY smartphone is still not released since then, and these set of pictures released on Vietnamese forum techrum.vn indicates that the BlackBerry Kopi seems to be all but ready for an official release.
From the images and descriptions found on the forum post, it appears that the Kopi sports a 3.2-inch screen, a back cover that is reminiscent of the Z10, mini HDMI port, and a 2100mAh battery. The Kopi is still in testing and the final hardware configurations is not yet finalized, the post adds.
After six-odd months of appearning online, it seems odd that BlackBerry is still not ready to announce the Kopi smartphone. Of course, the fact that both the Z3 and Q20 – both of which were released at MWC 2014 – are still not available anywhere in the world (the Z3 will only be launched in Indonesia sometime in May).
