You saw it unveiled eight months ago, and wondered if it will ever make its way to this side of the world. Well, wonder no more as the Motorola Moto X is now available for pre-order at Storekini.com at an amazingly affordable retail price of RM1399 [UPDATE: RRP is now RM1499]. But wait, there’s more: Storekini has reserved limited units of the device exclusively for members of the Lowyat forum, where they can enjoy an instant RM100 rebate for the Moto X!
Brightstar’s RRP revision for the Moto X
The Moto X is an Android smartphone unlike any other. It is a flagship smartphone from Motorola, but built with modest specs. What defines it, however, is in the beautifully-crafted design of the Moto X and of course, the interesting software tweaks. The Moto X features a “touchless” control, where you can activate voice control of the device by simply saying “OK Google Now”, and then interacting with it just with your voice. The Moto X learns your unique voice too, so it will only activate when you give the command.

This “touchless” magic is achieved via some ingenious additions to the hardware of the device. The Moto X is powered by an in-house designed Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System which includes a software-optimized Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core 1.7GHz processor with Adreno 320 GPU, together with a natural language processor and a contextual computing processor.
Besides that, the other hardware specifications of the Moto X include a 10MP Clear Pixel camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of non-expandable storage, and a 2200mAh battery. This Android 4.4-running device is also LTE-enabled, making this a full-featured flagship smartphone at a fraction of the price.
Storekini will be bringing in the official international variant of the Moto X, with one year warranty from authorized distributors Brightstar. From now until April 13, the first 20 customers who make their pre-order for the Moto X with Storekini will get an instant RM50 rebate off the RM1399 [UPDATE: RRP is now RM1499] retail price using this discount code: MOTOXSTOREKINI.
