Kerbal Space Program allows those of us who are not mathematically inclined to pretend to be rocket scientists. The newest update to KSP now introduces an Asteroid Redirect Mission, which allows players to capture and steer asteroids. It will allow players to mimic potential real world missions to save the earth from asteroids, or simply indulge in fantasies of exploring giant slabs of ice located billions of kilometres from Earth.
Working with NASA to create a mostly accurate mission, the expansion now includes The Advanced Grabbing Unit (aka “The Claw”) and more than a few new spaceship parts. To help locate these asteroid a new feature has been added to the Tracking Station Facility. Naturally, anyone who has played KSP knows that being able to track an object in the universe does not mean you will be able to hit it.
