With the arrival of Office for iPad, Microsoft has also updated its Office Mobile for Android devices and Apple iPhone. This update includes the ability to create, edit, save, and view documents for free on both platforms which somehow are all the things you can’t do on the free version of Office for iPad.
Prior to today, these features were only available for Office 365 paid subscribers. In general, this just made the Office Mobile app for Android and iPhone on par with the built-in Microsoft Office on Windows Phone. While Office Mobile is certainly a true Microsoft Office product, the app is not exactly identical to the desktop version since it is optimized for smaller displays on smartphones.
Nevertheless, it is a useful enough for quick edits while on the go. To use it, all you need is a Microsoft account but do note that Office Mobile utilizes OneDrive cloud storage when you choose to save you documents online.
To install Office Mobile for Android and iPhone on your devices, download it over at Google Play or Apple’s App Store.
