Eurogamer has managed to uncover details about the next installment in the Far Cry series. Apparently Ubisoft is preparing to launch the game early next year, possibly within its next financial year (which would be before March 2015). Far Cry 4 will take place in the Himalayas; moving away from the usual tropical settings that players are used to seeing.
A new location also means new animals to interact with. Rumour has it that players will be able to ride elephants, although what exactly that means is unknown. The possibility of laying down rifle fire from the back of an elephant does make this game sound extremely tempting. Ubisoft should be showing off parts of the game at E3 in June. One source is claiming that the game will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4; it is, however, unclear if there will be a version for the Xbox 360 or PS3.
It looks like there will be a large focus on animals in games for the next few months. After all, both Goat Simulator and Bear Simulator are also due out later this year.
