The next generation iPhone(s) – iPhone 6/ iPhone Air, is not scheduled to be launched for another couple of months or so but it looks like the rumors are already building up really quickly. We’ve heard before the next generation iPhone will come in a 4.7” option as well as a 5.7” version, we’ve seen alleged “borderless” design of a larger iPhone 6 and now, Sonny Dickson is sharing that the next iPhone will be much thinner than before and will feature an Ultra Retina display as well as an A8 processor.
According to recent rumors, the iPhone 6 could be as slim as 6mm but according to the latest Tweets by Sonny Dickson, the next generation iPhone will be even slimmer, measuring at a mere 5.58mm. For comparison’s sake, the current iPhone 5S measures at 7.6mm and the iPad Air measures at 7.5mm thick; can you imagine just how fragile the iPhone 6 could be?
Sonny Dickson also mentioned that the iPhone 6 would come with an Ultra Retina display that gives out 389ppi density and the A8 processor will be clocked at 2.6GHz. If the display rumor is really true and Apple will be releasing the iPhone 6 with a 4.7” display, it will be higher than 720p but lower than 1080p. The pixel density in upcoming flagship smartphones that were announced in MWC 2014 – Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 and LG G Pro 2 have a pixel density of 432ppi, 424ppi and 377ppi respectively on Full HD displays.
As usual, do take these rumors with a pinch of salt as it’s still pretty early at the moment and even Sonny Dickson said that these specs could be the real thing so he himself isn’t 100% sure either.
Anybody looking forward to see what Apple could offer?
