Took the brand sometime to release this particular device in Malaysia but nevertheless, TCT Mobile Malaysia and Ten Ten Telecommunications is finally ready to release the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ in Malaysia. If you haven’t heard about the smartphone before, one of most touted feature of Idol X+ is its octa-core (that’s eight core, by the way) processor from MediaTek.
Called the MT6592, MediaTek claimed that the MT6592 is the first true octa-core processor in the world which means that all eight core can be run at the same time. Here’s a demonstration of the processor’s performance:
The MediaTek MT6592 processor that is equipped into the Idol X+ at a clock speed of 2GHz. Other than that, the Idol X+ is also equipped with a 5-inch full HD display that is covered with Dragontrail glass and oleophobic coating. Additionally, it also comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13.1-megapixels rear camera, 2-megapixels front camera, and 2500mAh battery.
Alongside the Idol X+, Alcatel One Touch will also be launching the Alcatel One Touch Idol Alpha which was originally announced at IFA 2013 alongside Alcatel One Touch Hero. The Idol Alpha has a pretty interesting list of hardware which seems like a mix of mid and high end components: 4.7-inch 1280×720 display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13-megapixels rear camera, 1.3-megapixels front camera, and 2000mAh battery.
It is going to be interesting to see how these two new Alcatel One Touch Android smartphones will be priced in Malaysia and the good thing is that you don’t have to wait long to find out about them. So, stay tuned for our coverage of the launch this Friday.
