Recently, a smartphone manufacturer from India called Karbonn has revealed a plan to release smartphones that will carry both Android and Windows Phone within a single device. As it turns out, Karbonn is not alone as there is another company also has similar plan on its mind.
That company is Huawei – a well-known name in both Android and Windows Phone world.
This revelation was made by Shao Yang, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer in an interview with Trusted Reviews. The company seems to be very committed with the idea even though Shao Yang admitted that Windows Phone has lower priority compared to Android.
He also added that consumers might be more inclined to try Windows Phone on a smartphone if it is paired together with Android, instead of just WP alone:
“If it is Windows only, maybe people will not find it as easy a decision to buy the phone. If they have the Android and Windows together, you can change it as you wish and it is much easier for people to choose Windows Phone.” – Shao Yang, Chief Marketing Officer, Huawei.
Just like Karmonn, Huawei is also planning to roll out the dual OS smartphone very soon with US release day is said to be sometime in Q2 which is even earlier than Karbonn. Well then, we can’t wait to see how this very device and the general idea of Android-Windows Phone hybrid device will fare when it is launched into the market very soon.
