Bernama yesterday has published a report that Kementerian Dalam Negeri (Ministry of Home Affairs) has put a ban on an Ultraman book called “Ultraman The Ultra Power” due to elements that might cause unrest among public. The news then spread like a wildfire, generated a lot of interesting response from plenty of netizens who are clearly baffled at the move.
Some even thought that KDN is banning the whole family of UItraman since the original news piece by Bernama didn’t specify the reason behind the ban. However, that is not actually accurate.
You see, a picture of the banned comic (shown above) appeared online not long after the news became known to the public and pretty much shined the light on why KDN decided to take action on it. Apparently, the description of the comic stated that Ultraman King is “considered to be, and respected as “Allah” or Elder of all Ultra heroes” and Astro Awani pointed that there is a possibility that the description might be a result of Google Translation.
Nevertheless, this fact was only confirmed few hours ago when KDN finally came out with a statement to clarify the issue. The ministry further elaborated that the action was taken in order to avoid confusion among young children who many of them idolized the superhero characters as the comic’s description directly associated Ultraman and Allah.

In addition to that, KDN has also made it clear that the ban is only on this particular comic book, not the Ultraman characters themselves. So, rejoice Ultraman fans; your beloved family of superheroes is still free to roam in Malaysia.
