So, DiGi has finally enabled LTE connectivity for its smartphone customers this week – around 8 months after it was initially made available for tablets and broadband customers. That being said though, this particular service is currently available only for postpaid customers.
Hence, we asked DiGi at the company’s media event earlier today if the telco has plan to extend LTE to prepaid customers. As expected, it turns out that DiGi is indeed planning to offer LTE to its prepaid customers.
According to Christian Thrane, the Chief Marketing Officer of DiGi, LTE will be made available to DiGi’s prepaid customers maybe sometime in the future. However, the company has no confirmed timeline to share at this moment. Furthermore, Albern Murty, DiGi’s Chief Operating Officer has also pointed out that the current focus of DiGi’s prepaid package is to bring Internet to more users.
Well, we guess it is now only a matter of time before DiGi’s prepaid customers are able to utilize DiGi LTE services. Then again, how soon will DiGi be able to deliver that considering the fact that its major competitors are already offering LTE to prepaid users?
