Barely a week after the device made its first official public appearance at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Nokia X is now in Malaysia. Just moments ago, Nokia Malaysia has officially launched the new device in our shores and users will be able to see it in stores within this week itself.
As refresher, the Nokia X is the base model out of the three devices in the Nokia X family. It is packed with a 4-inch 800×480 display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, support for up to 32GB MicroSD card, 3-megapixels fixed focus rear camera, and dual-SIM capability.
The new Nokia X features a custom interface made by Nokia which contains elements from Windows Phone and Nokia Asha series. Behind the interface is actually Android 4.1 but the device doesn’t has access to Google services since Nokia X’s OS was built from Android Open Source Project version of the operating system. That being said, users are still able to install plenty of Android apps into the device rather easily.
Priced at RM 399, customers are able to obtain the device from Nokia dealers throughout the country as well as through Lowyat.NET’s own online shop – Storekini.com. Our Storekini colleagues have lined up a special offer (as shown above) for Nokia X customers, so check the subsequent post to learn more about the arrival of Nokia X in Malaysia and Storekini.
