Hot on the heels of the Galaxy NotePro 12.2 we just saw earlier this week Samsung announced the arrival of the Galaxy TabPro family to complement the existing device in the Pro series of devices. Available in 12.2, 10.1 and 8.4inch flavours, the TabPro is very similar to the NotePro with the exception of battery size, 2GB RAM and the omission of the S Pen from the TabPro range.

Sporting the same power packed specs as the NotePro and same resolution across ALL the sizes in the family, the TabPro may certainly be a device to watch, particularly the 8.4 version. At 8.4inches, the Tab pro has a breathtaking 1600 x 2560 resolution coming in at 359ppi and will have 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 Quad Core processor, 2GB of RAM,8MP rear camera and 4,800mAh battery life.
A good reason to consider this device is the reworked Touchwiz UI (a UI which I’ve been extremely vocal against), called Magazine UX, it does give a certain polish to the tablet away from the usual candybar style icons that we are familiar with.
The unfortunate thing is that we don’t have a price at the moment for these devices, but if the Pro suffix is to be believed, it will not come cheap. Will Samsung be able to find a sweet spot to have a real powerhouse 8.4 tablet in Q1 of 2014 when its scheduled to arrive? Let’s find out.
