Since wearable device has managed to gain attraction as of late, we believe it will be one of the hottest segment at this year’s edition of Mobile World Congress which will officially opens on Monday, 24 February. In fact, one of the companies that will be revealing their own wearable device at the event is Huawei. This fact was confirmed by Huawei Malaysia’s Country Director for Consumer Business Group, Gary Xu at a media event in Kuala Lumpur earlier today.
However, Gary didn’t provide more information regarding the device apart from the fact that it will be one of the new products that the China-based company will announce at MWC next week. The availability of Huawei’s new wearable device in Malaysia is not yet known at the moment although Gary believes that the device will be well-received in our market once it is made available in Malaysia sometime in the future.
Nevertheless, this information from Huawei Malaysia pretty much confirmed the report by the Wall Street Journal last week. Well then, stay tuned for Huawei’s MWC reveal and more as part of our MWC 2014 coverage next week.
