World of Warplanes developer Wargaming.net has released a mobile app that allows users to tour the recently recovered Dornier Do 17 light bomber. This particular aircraft is special in that it is the only surviving example in existence; and was recovered from a crash site off the coast of Britain.
The salvage operation was done by the UK’s Royal Air Force Museum, with assistance from Wargaming.net, and currently resides in a special exhibit. Anyone interested in watching the operation can check out the video on Youtube.
Wargaming’s app will allow people to travel to certain locations and take pictures with a superimposed image of the Dornier; which also happens to include Malaysia’s own KLCC. Photographs taken also have a chance of joining the bomber at an exhibition set to open at the RAF Museum in London later this year.
