Well, looks like the Tech Armory – the brand name of Zeon PC Trading, a retailer in SS15 of Subang Jaya – has yet another surprise under its sleeves. If you can recall, Tech Armory was in our focus recently after the company announced that it has applied a license from Valve in order to mass produce its own Steam Machine which if successful, would potentially made Tech Armory as the first Steam Machine OEM in Malaysia.
While there is still no update on that matter for time being, the retailer has now announced its own gaming laptop yesterday. Dubbed as the Commandos, the first model in the series is called SP531 and features a 15.6-inch full HD display with 95% NTSC colour gamut. The laptop is powered by the Haswell-based 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-4700MQ quad-core processor while its graphics department is handled by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB worth of GDDR5.
The Commandos SP531 gaming laptops also comes standard with 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM, a 500GB hard drive that spins at 5400rpm, a pair of Onkyo built-in stereo speakers, a dual-layer multi-burner drive, and Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 network card. No mention of LAN port but the spec sheet did list down one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, and one eSATA/USB 3.0 combo port.
Additionally, there are no mention of the laptop’s thickness and weight as well which made us quite curious. Estimated to arrive at the company’s SS15 outlet this coming Saturday, the new Tech Armory Commandos SP531 is priced at RM 3,399 and is protected with one year limited warranty.
