Now that the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have officially landed in Malaysia, where can you get your hands on one? The three biggest local telcos are offering both new iPhones with a postpaid plan but if you would like to purchase the device alone without any contract, you can now do so online and in physical stores across Malaysia.
Telcos
First up, as you all may know, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available with Maxis, Celcom and DiGi. A contract is required if you purchase from these telcos, but the device they sell comes at a subsidized price, and are bundled with data, calls and SMS – you’ll need to sign up for a mobile plan for the iPhones anyway, right?
We have a price comparison that puts together what all these telcos have got to offer, so you can easily pick what suits you the most and how much you will pay at the end. The only bad thing about buying from a telco? You’ll get tied to a contract for up to 2 whole years, or pay a hefty penalty if you wish to change.
Apple Online Store (MY)
Apart from local telcos, you can also purchase it directly from Apple in its online store for Malaysia. Yes, there’s no official Apple store here in Malaysia, but visit www.store.apple.com/my and you can buy everything Apple has got to offer in Malaysia. The last we checked, iPhone 6 delivery will take about 5-7 working days, while the larger iPhone 6 Plus can take up to 2 weeks.
senQ
Don’t want to wait so long to get the iPhones? You can also get them in local Apple resellers around Malaysia. senQ is one of them and on top of just offering the phones, the store is also giving away extra 1 year of warranty (for members), 0% EPP, and freebies – check out our previous post to see what senQ has got to offer for their iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus. Last we heard, stock is very limited so you better be quick if you wish to secure your hands on one.
Machines
Other Apple resellers in Malaysia are also offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. According to Machines’ Facebook page, the queue for them started yesterday in selected locations – they only started selling the devices at 10am this morning.
We heard that stocks for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are very limited but thankfully, you can easily check the availability of the model you want with the table provided. Alternatively, you can also send Machines a private message just to be sure.
Mac City
Alternatively, you can also purchase the new iPhones from Mac City. According to their Facebook page, Mac City will be selling the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus at all Mac City outlets.
Here’s a list of their outlets across Malaysia but just to be safe, do try to contact them to see if they have any stock availability.
EpiCenter
Like the ones we mentioned before, EpiCenter has also started selling the new iPhones starting at 10am this morning. They did not mention which EpiCenter stores in Malaysia are selling those devices, so do drop them a message to check on availability.
Switch
Switch is also offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at all Switch outlets nationwide excluding Education stores. The store has a very detailed explanation on how to get the iPhone from them including all the locations that are selling the devices, and even a floor plan that teaches you how to queue – we’re definitely very impressed by the efforts Switch put into the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in Malaysia.
Macstudio
Macstudio is also offering the new iPhones and yes, you can easily check the availability of the phones by following their Facebook page. There’s no indication as to which Macstudio branch is offering the new iPhones, so do try calling them or sending them a message to be sure.
Forum
Finally, last but not least because you can’t find the iPhones anymore since the stock seems to be so limited, you know where to go – our forums of course. Just give the Mobile Phones Garage Sales a search and you’ll definitely run into a few.
