Will Sony introduce a new flagship smartphone just about 6 months after launching the Xperia Z3 series? It looks like they most likely will, say hello to the latest leak – the touch digitizer of the Sony Xperia Z4.
FutureSupplier claims to have gotten their hands on the LCD touch digitizer of the Sony Xperia Z4, and places it next to the Xperia Z3’s touch digitizer. From the pictures, it looks like both devices will have a similar-sized display, but Sony has made minor tweaks. The speakers on the top of the phone has been shifted to the far edge, while the proximity sensor and front facing camera have switched places.
As for the bottom of the phone, Sony has removed the stereo loudspeaker on the Xperia Z3. FutureSupplier notes that Sony has been rumoured to keep the dual loudspeakers on the front, so it’s likely that the company has shifted the speaker on the bottom to the bottom edge along with the USB charging port.
According to earlier rumours, the Sony Xperia Z4 will feature a 2K 5.5” display. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, with an Adreno 430 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 16GB ROM. It will still have the same IP68 water-resistant body, and Sony will be removing the annoying flaps covering the micro USB port.
