You don’t need a fitness band or smartwatch to keep track of your physical activities, Google has just released an app called Google Fit, that can track your activities using your phone, tablet, the web and of course, Android Wear devices.
Using sensors already found on Android devices, the app can detect walking, biking and running. Just set your goals and let the app track these physical activities – you can check your progress anytime you wish on any devices including the web.
For now, Google Fit can track whether you’re walking, running or biking. It can also connect to existing fitness devices and apps like Strava, Withings, Runtastic, Runkeeper and Noom Coach, so you can check all the relevant data in a single Google Fit app. Google will show you how much you’ve been walking, running, biking, including the number of steps taken. There will also be a chart so you can monitor when you are most active.
Google Fit is available immediately and can be downloaded from the Play Store for free. It’s compatible with all android devices running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above.
