Earlier this month, Sony has unveiled a brand new limited edition PlayStation 4 at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) press conference which is called the Metal Slime Edition in conjunction with the upcoming release of Dragon Quest Heroes: Yamiryuu to Sekaiju no Shiro.
At that time, it was believed that the special edition console will not be available outside of Japan but that changes today as SCEJA today has revealed that PS4 Dragon Quest Metal Slime Edition will be released in Asian regions soon.
The revelation was part of the agenda at the SCEJA’s press conference for Asian region earlier today. In case you missed the news, what made the PS4 Dragon Quest Metal Slime Edition different from a standard PS4 is the inclusion of a USB protective cover in the form of Metal Slime which is a character from the Dragon Quest series.
Designed with the help of the game’s creator Square Enix the console is also draped in silver colorway that is similar to the color of Metal Slime. Other than that, the word “Dragon Quest” and two drawings of Metal Slime also appeared on the console. Accompanying the console is a Dual-Shock 4 wireless controller in matching colorway and a Metal Slime drawing at the bottom right side of the controller.
Unfortunately for Dragon Quest fans and fellow gamers that already eager to grab the console away, the pricing info and release date for it are not known at the moment. Nevertheless, we expect to see the console alongside the release of Dragon Quest Heroes: Yamiryuu to Sekaiju no Shiro that will take place in 2015.
