It looks like something big will be happening soon on Maxis as the telco just posted a teaser with the hashtag #nextbigthing. However, what is the “next big thing”? Could it be a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or will it be the bigger iPhone 6? The telco wants you to take a guess while they’re warming up for “the most exciting workout of the year”.
We all know that “The Next Big Thing” is a line that has been used by Samsung for many years. In multiple ads used to poke fun at Apple (old and new), the Korean company has always bragged that the next big thing is already here – as far as we can remember, Samsung has been using “the next big thing” since the Galaxy S2, when the device became larger than an iPhone.

However, don’t be too sure yet because the new iPhones are rumored to be a lot larger than before with screen sizes measuring at 4.7” and 5.5” so could Maxis be referring to this next big thing instead? If it’s a Galaxy Note 4 announcement, I’m pretty sure the teaser would have some sort of S Pen-like thing at the teaser but there is none, only a picture of several fingers stretching out for the announcement.
[Update] We spotted an apple! Does the apple mean an Apple, or is it just part of the whole “working out” theme in the teaser image?

Based on the comments so far on the teaser page and judging from the timing (the iPhone 6 announcement is scheduled for 9 September 2014), it looks like iPhone 6 is the clear winner but of course, we can’t be too sure.
Whatever it is, the iPhone 6 is scheduled to be announced tomorrow (1am on 10 September 2014 to be precise), so I guess we’ll know when Tim Cook announce the countries that will be receiving the next generation iPhones first!
