The whole iPhone 6 Plus “bendgate” issue sure took the internet by storm yesterday (and it’s still on-going). We’ve seen plenty of pictures of bent iPhone 6 Plus, this user proved that the first phablet from Apple is indeed bendable by one’s bare hands. A lot of companies and individuals have taken the opportunity to poke fun at Apple once again, and here are some of the funniest ones we’ve seen so far.
At an on-going event, Microsoft just presented this slide.

Not too long after the whole bendgate problem went viral, LG seized up the opportunity to pimp its LG G Flex, a curved smartphone from the company. The LG G Flex is a curved smartphone but as its name suggest, some users even found that it’s slightly flexible whereby you can straighten it out and have it bounce back in shape and it’ll cause no harm at all.
Xiaomi Malaysia also posted a pretty cute picture to their Facebook page featuring their mascot bending and a caption that reads “Don’t Bend With Mi”.
The tech companies aren’t the only ones to jump into the whole bendgate bandwagon. KitKat (the chocolate, not Android) also shared a picture on their Twitter account saying that their chocolates don’t bend, they break.
But definitely nothing can beat what all you individuals out there came out with.
It’s time to straighten up your iPhone 6 Plus with this roller:

But jokes aside, why does the iPhone 6 Plus bend? MKBHD has a pretty good explanation in his video.
The iPhone 6 Plus is a pretty slim device measuring at only 7.1mm in terms of thickness. It is made out of aluminum, a type of metal that is known to be pretty soft and will definitely bend if you put enough pressure on it. BBC has a pretty interesting “sitting down test” video that shows whether or not an iPhone 6 Plus will bend if placed into the front and back pocket, and sat down on. The result? Check it out for yourself.

Of course, this is no excuse for Apple to make such a bendable phone. Something that costs thousands of Ringgit should not be so fragile and I’m pretty sure this guy who paid RM7,800 for his iPhone 6 certainly would not want to see his precious device bent like that.
For those who still insist on getting the iPhone 6 Plus in spite of the bendgate issue, here’s a user guide for you.
