Microsoft has announce two accessories to support the line of Lumia smartphones. One is an updated wireless charging plate that also includes NFC for a few nifty features, while the other is a screen sharing device to broadcast your display to something larger.
Dedication to wireless charging standards is something that appears to be unique to Nokia (and now Microsoft). The company has announced a new version of its charging plate, and has decided that it needs to do more than just sit on a tablet waiting to charge devices. Using an NFC connection, the new Qi wireless charging plate can be customised to flash and blink its LEDs when notifications come in, or even communicate that your phone needs charging.
Alongside this is the Microsoft Screen Sharing HD-10, which is a device that allows users to broadcast their Lumia phones to a compatible display. The HD-10 plugs into any HDMI port and uses NFC to pair the box with a smartphone. It doesn’t do much else, but is an interesting alternative for those who want to rely on smartphones to do presentations.
