While all the other phone manufacturers out there are cramming the latest and greatest hardware into their flagship smartphones, look at what Sharp just announced in its home country – the Sharp Aquos Crystal and Aquos Crystal X that not only packs impressive hardware, but also features a gorgeous bezel-free design.
Both these devices were announced in Japan and one of them will be launched in the U.S. through their local telco, Sprint. The Aquos Crystal X is the higher end of the two that features a large 5.5” Full HD display and is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Other specs include a dimension measuring at 139 x 73 x 11mm, and a 2610mAh battery in the back.
The Aquos Crystal on the other hand features less impressive specs in a slightly smaller body, but still comes with the same sexy design as its bigger sibling. It is designed with a 5” HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Other specs include a dimension measuring at 131 x 67 x 10mm, 140 grams, LTE, 2040mAh battery and will run on Android 4.4.2 out of the box. The Aquos Crystal will also be equipped with a Harmon Kardon sound effects engine with support for “Clari-Fi”, “LiveStage” streaming and a native compatibility with the Harman Kardon ONYX Studio Bluetooth speaker.
Sadly for us Malaysians and for the rest of the world, the Aquos Crystal X will only be available in Japan while the Aquos Crystal will be launched in the USA on 29 August 2014. While both these devices are, without a doubt, very pretty to look at, I can’t help but wonder how the usability is, especially the larger one. Check out the source links for more pictures.
