If you’ve been patiently waiting for the rumored iPhone 6, 9 September 2014 (or 10 September for us Malaysians) is the date to mark on your calendar as multiple sources are now claiming that Apple will host an event on that date.
Re/Code was the first to say that Apple will hold an iPhone on 9 September 2014 and it’s good to note that the tech site has a pretty good track record when it comes to predicting Apple events. Later, Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal also reported the same date, citing their own sources. Both Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal are claiming that according to “a person familiar with the matter”, Apple is expected to hold an event to introduce its new iPhones. The next generation iPhones were previously reported to be unveiled in mid-September.
According to all the sources, Apple will unveil both iPhones – 4.7” and 5.5”, on the same day. It was previously rumored that due to production difficulties, the iPhone phablet will only be announced on a later date. If these reports are true, it means that it’ll be only less than a week after Samsung’s event at IFA 2014.
The upcoming iPhones are reported to feature two sizes measuring at 4.7” and 5.5”. According to a couple of handfuls of leaked images, both devices will feature a new rounded-edge design and will come with a very tough Sapphire glass display. To run on iOS 8, both variants are also reported to be powered by a more powerful Apple A8 processor. Are you excited to see what Apple has got to offer? Only slightly over a month to go.
