There has been a lot going on in the news for Motorola these few weeks. With its upcoming launch event in Chicago, Motorola has already been rumoured to release a couple of new devices, including the alleged Moto X+1 and Moto G2. However, a leaked CPU-Z screenshot of an unknown device has surfaced. It is believed to be the next Motorola Droid device, allegedly called the Droid Turbo.
After the alleged Nexus 6 Motorola Shamu appeared on GFXBench and AnTuTu benchmarks just last week, this is the second Motorola leak and shows what appears to be a different device from the “Shamu”, as these CPU-Z screenshots indicate:
Based on the screenshots, this mystery Motorola device bears the model number XT1254 (quark_verizon). Previous Droid Razr models such as the Droid Razr Maxx by Motorola all have model numbers starting with the letters “XT”. With that, this points the mystery device towards being the rumoured upcoming Droid smartphone by Motorola – the Droid Turbo.
The screenshots also show that this device bears very impressive specs – a Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.65GHz, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage capacity, 20-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front facing module, Android 4.4.4, and of course, a 2560 x 1440 display. As the screenshots suggest, the device will have a 360 x 640 DPI which makes a 4.59-inch screen. That would make it the first smartphone to actually carry a ridiculous 640 pixels per inch (PPI).
Just like the last Droid devices by Motorola – Droid Ultra, Maxx and Mini, the device would probably also be exclusive to US carrier Verizon. This is also backed by the fact that the word “verizon” is also being named in the model number. Nevertheless, given the current batch of Motorola smartphone available in the country have had favourable responses, perhaps it is time Motorola considers releasing the Droid Turbo for the international markets?
