Rear camera of the Samsung Galaxy S5
Camera is without a doubt one of the most important features on a smartphone, and it looks like the camera on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have some exciting stuffs to offer. Sammobile recently received a very detailed report regarding the device’s camera specifications and features, including a 16MP Sony IMX240 camera, a new Side Touch sensor, Selfie modes, and a whole load more.
First up, according to the report, Samsung will be using a 16MP Sony IMX240 camera on the back coupled with optical image stabilization (OIS) on board. Like the Korean version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (SM G906S/L/K) that uses the same camera sensor (with OIS), the camera is capable of capturing UHD videos at 30FPS. The front camera on the other hand will be equipped with a 3.7MP sensor that is capable of capturing images and videos in WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution.
Side Touch is like a physical shutter button but instead of a button, Samsung will use a sensor located on the bottom right side of the device. All a user has got to do is touch the sensor to capture an image. However, unlike a real shutter button, Side Touch will not be work in Portrait Mode, Easy Mode, while recording video, and will not let you half-press to focus.
Sammobile also reported that the Galaxy Note 4 will be a lot more selfie-friendly with several selfie modes – Wide Selfie, Selfie and Selfie Alarm. Wide Selfie, as its name suggest, allows you to take wide-angle selfie shots to fit more people into your pictures, Selfie allows you to take selfie by smiling or winking, and Selfie Alarm allows you to easily capture a selfie using the rear camera because the camera will automatically detect and focus on your face when you take self portrait pictures.
Finally, other notable camera features include gesture control that will allow users to activate the camera while the screen is off simply by tapping the screen with two fingers and swiping them apart, the ability to Create A Gif File, and all the modes found on the Galaxy S5 such as HDR Live, Selective Focus, Fast Auto-Focus and more.
