Leaked images of a Lumia handset codenamed “Superman” had surfaced on the web. Following the selfie trend, Microsoft has been rumoured to release a selfie-centric phone which could possibly be the successor to the Lumia 720.
Much like the Sony Xperia C3, the rumoured Lumia selfie phone would feature a refined front facing camera that has an unusually high 5MP sensor compared to other Lumia mobile devices. It is expected that this device would be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 720, which may be called the Lumia 730. With an unspecified specsheet, it would likely be a mid-range device with a 4.7-inch screen and the newly introduced on-screen navigation keys similarly found on the Lumia 630.
Based on the images above, the phone displays a setting page which shows the name of an unfamiliar Lumia firmware named the Lumia Debian Red. This is in line with Nokia’s alphabetical order of colours used for its firmware codenames, after Bittersweet Shimmer for Lumia Black and Cherry Blossom for Lumia Cyan. It is suggested that it could possibly be in conjunction with the firmware update of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 which is expected to arrive this November.
Given that this is still a prototype device, details on the device are still scarce – though there should be more over the coming weeks.
