Just as promised, Xiaomi Malaysia has unveiled the retail price for its next products coming to Malaysia, the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note. These two devices will be coming to the country in July, and will retail from RM419.
The Redmi Note that will be coming to Malaysia is the company’s “enhanced” variant, featuring twice the amount of RAM and a faster-clocked processor compared to the original variant. Besides that, both variants will sport the same set of hardware: 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, 13MP rear and 5MP front camera sensors, 8GB of internal storage, and a 3200mAh removable battery.
The first Redmi Note coming to Malaysia will be the white version, with colourful back covers to be made available soon after. The Redmi Note product page has already appeared on Xiaomi Malaysia’s website, though none can be seen yet for the Redmi 1S. The Redmi Note will retail at RM509, and the first batch of sales will be available on July 22. Xiaomi did not disclose the amount that will be sold in the initial batch.
On the other hand, the Redmi 1S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display, 2000mAh battery, and 8MP rear and 1.3MP front-facing cameras. The Redmi 1S will retail at RM419, and the first batch will be coming in two weeks’ time, July 8 to be exact. Similar to the Redmi Note, Xiaomi Malaysia did not mention how many units will be available in the first round.
