Sony confirmed that the award winning Grand Theft Auto V will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 this autumn. While an actual release date hasn’t been announced, the title has so far been confined to the previous generation consoles. Developer Rockstar games later announced that the title would also be released for the Xbox One and PC.
GTA V’s development meant that it made its debut for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 around the same time as the next generation PS4 and Xbox One were launched. Rockstar made no mention of an updated version at the time, although many expected the game be ported to the next gen consoles fairly quickly. The PC version of GTA V was subject to multiple rumours, as most PC gamers had been clamouring for the opportunity to get in on the open world game.
Gamers who own the current generation of GTA V will also be provided with the option to port their saves over to the new GTA V.
