Even though the glory days of iPod might have diminished since iPhone came into the picture, it seems like Apple still has not fully forgotten about the media player. Today, the Cupertino giant has announced that it is releasing a new version for its 5th generation iPod Touch 16GB model.
One of the biggest changes that Apple has made for the new variant of its 5th generation iPod Touch 16GB is the inclusion of the 5-megapixels iSight camera on its back. In addition to that, the new variant is also available in six colorways just like the device’s 32GB and 64GB models. As a comparison, the original 5th generation iPod Touch 16GB model has no rear camera and only comes in silver.
Meanwhile, Apple has also reduced the pricing for the device’s 32GB and 64GB variants. In US, the 32GB model is now priced at USD 249 (RM 802) instead of the original price of USD 299 (RM 963) while the price of the 64GB model has dropped to USD 299 as opposed to its original USD 399 (RM 1285) price tag. Before we forget, the iPod Touch 16GB with iSight camera that we mentioned above costs USD 199 (RM 641).
Since the new 16GB model together with the revised pricing for the 32GB and 64GB models has yet to appear on Apple Malaysia’s online store, we strongly recommend you to hold off your plan to buy iPod Touch at the moment. The wait shouldn’t be long though; we’ll keep you updated once we heard any updates from Apple.
