If you have been wondering why Surface Pro 2 was not released into our market despite making an appearance in SIRIM’s database, we think we just found out the answer. Right after the unveiling event in New York, Microsoft Malaysia has confirmed to us that the Surface Pro 3 is expected to arrive in Malaysia by end of August.
Malaysia is part of the 26 second wave market that will receive the brand new Windows 8.1 Pro tablet. While the pricing for US market ranges from USD 799 (RM 2572) to USD 1949 (RM 6274), Microsoft has yet to announce similar list for Malaysian market at this moment.
Judging from previous Surface releases though, we don’t expect the pricing to be far off especially given the fact that Surface Pro 3 will be released in Malaysia within just 3 months of its US launch. That being said, I do wonder if Microsoft will actually release all five configurations in our market or only selected variant. I mean, how many users out there would actually pay close to RM 7,000 for the highest-end Surface Pro 3?
Well then, let’s see how Microsoft Malaysia play its card for Surface Pro 3 this August.
