Steam has announced that the highly anticipated Steam Machines have been delayed until next year. Mostly due to feedback concerning the Steam Controller and the impending improvements that are needed to get the device up to regular Valve standards.
A post in the Steam Universe community page revealed that there has been “a ton of useful feedback”. Most of which has left the company very busy in making the improvements. The haptic feedback based controller has been at the centre of attention due to the unusual design of the directional pads; as well as the previous attempt at putting a touchscreen in the middle of the device. There are several versions of the controller out in the beta testing phase, although little information about them has surfaced.
This would also mean that local Steam Machine manufacturer Tech Armory will have to wait a little longer to get their own version into the market.
