Speaking of the Intel Malaysia PC Refresh Campaign that we reported earlier, it has gave us more than just deals and contests. Why? That is because the site has accidentally revealed a new product that is coming to our market very soon: the new Acer Switch 10 2-in-1 notebook, which was announced at the company’s global media event in New York last month.
Powered by a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3745 (previously codenamed Bay Trail) processor, the Acer Switch 10 can be used in four different positions thanks to its detachable nature. One has the option to operate Switch 10 as a stand-alone tablet or attach the tablet part into the given the keyboard, shall he or she prefer to use Switch 10 like a standard notebook.
There are also two more position style that are called the Display mode, and Tent mode. According to the Intel Refresh PC campaign’s website, the 10.1-inch HD device also features 2GB of RAM, 32GB flash storage, 500GB hard drive, and 2-megapixels webcam. It also comes with Microsoft Office Home & Student, just like the previously released Acer Iconia W4 and Iconia W3.
Thanks to the campaign’s website, we also know that the Acer Switch 10 will carry a price tag of RM 1399 in Malaysia although at this moment, Acer Malaysia has yet to announce any launch date for the device. Furthermore, the listing has now been fixed and Switch 10 is no longer part of it.
Not only that, two more Acer products that were previously listed on the campaign’s website have also disappeared leaving only Aspire E1-472G/572G notebook and Iconia W4 tablet. These products include the Aspire E3-111-C4FKs which is a 11.6-inch notebook powered by Intel Celeron N2930 quad-core processor, as well as the Aspire ZC606-1900W8 19.5-inch All-in-One PC that runs on a 2GHz Intel Celeron J1900 processor.
Priced at RM 1099 and RM 1399 respectively, both products will also come standard with Office Home & Standard which definitely added more value to them. Interestingly, a quick search over the net revealed that they will also feature Windows 8.1 with Bing which made them among the earliest group of products (that we know) to be pre-installed with the newly announced variant of Windows 8.
Now that we know the existence of these device for Malaysian market (with the exception of Aspire E3-111-C4FKs which apparently already available in the market), it is only a matter of time before Acer Malaysia reveals the actual release date for them. Let’s see how soon that will take place…
