Since the day Huawei broke the news of the imminent arrival of its brand new Honor 3C smartphone in Malaysia, it has managed to attract significant amount of attention from local consumers especially when it is rumoured that the device will be priced at less than RM 600 which is rather affordable for a quad-core smartphone.
At this moment, Huawei is still keeping the price of Honor 3C for our market a secret though and has stated it will only be revealed at the device’s Malaysian launch event that will take place later today. Nevertheless, if you wonder what the hype is all about…here you go: our initial hands-on look at the new Huawei Honor 3C.
As you might have heard, the processing power of Huawei Honor 3C is provided by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6582 quad-core processor which is further supported by 2GB of RAM alongside 8GB worth of internal storage. Running on the company’s own EmotionUI 2.0 on top of Android 4.2 operating system, the dual-SIM device also supports MicroSD card with capacity of up to 32GB and comes standard with removable 2300mAh battery.
Huawei Honor 3C is also equipped with a 5-inch 1280×720 LTPS display which Huawei claimed has a pixel density of 315 ppi. In terms of photography, Huawei has included an 8-megapixels BSI sensor by Sony into Honor 3C’s rear camera together with a F2.0 28mm lens and blue glass filter. For selfie-related operation, the responsibility lies on Honor 3C’s 5-megapixel front camera and its F2.4 22mm lens.
As far as first impression goes, the smartphone’s plastic and highly glossy exterior kind of hinted how Huawei is able to offer Honor 3C at such an affordable (rumoured) price point. Honestly speaking, the Honor 3C exterior design and construction material made it looked like many Chinese-made smartphone out there which is nowhere near the premium design that Huawei has crafted for some of its previously released devices such as the Ascend P6.
Despite that, the 9.2mm smartphone still feels quite sturdy and it is also very light at 140grams. In addition to that, navigating through the device feels rather smooth in general which might be due to its quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. The Honor 3C’s LTPS HD display also has good viewing angles, vibrant colours, and the useful gloves mode that bumps the screen’s sensitivity when you need it.
Well, it is now up to Honor 3C’s actual price tag to determine its spot in our market. We shall find out very soon once Huawei Malaysia reveals it in just few hours’ time.
Huawei Honor 3C will be available for order at Storekini.com starting today, from 308pm onwards.
