In addition to the Find 7, Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has also announced the Find 7a, a lower-end variant of the Find 7. Don’t be fooled by that, though, as the Find 7a still packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, and the same 13MP Sony sensor on the Find 7.

While the exterior of the Find 7a will look essentially the same, the main differences with the flagship Find 7 is in the hardware. Interestingly enough, it looks as though the Find 7a is more of a “current-gen” flagship smartphone. Here are the full specs list for the Find 7a:

Colors: Midnight/White
Dimensions: 152.6 ×75 × 9.2 mm
Weight: 170 g
Operating System: ColorOS 1.2.0 based on Android 4.3
Processor: 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad Core (MSM8974AB)
GPU: Adreno 330
Memory: 16 GB ROM (expandable) / 2GB RAM
Battery: 2,800 mAh (Rapid Charge)
Screen: 5.5-inch, 1080p Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels), 403 PPI, 16 million colors
Touchscreen: Multi-touch, capacitive screen, Gorilla Glass 3, supports gloved and wet touch input
Camera: 13-megapixel IMX214 Sony sensor with dedicated ISP, Dual-mode LED, Aperture f/2.0
Scene modes: Normal, Panorama, High Speed, Rewind, Beautify, Slow Shutter and .GIF mode
Features: USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, 5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, GPS, Distance sensor, Light sensor, G-sensor, 4D Gyroscope
In the box: OPPO Find 7a, Battery, In-ear type earphones, Micro USB cable, Fast Charger

For now, only the lower-end Find 7a will be available tomorrow in China, while the Find 7 will be available at a later date. The price of the Find 7a has been set at 2998 Yuan, which translates to about RM1590 – let’s see if the retail price remains the same when it comes to Malaysia next month.
