Joining the ranks of “Worst Kept Secrets In History” is the All-New HTC One(ANHO), 2014 HTC One or the M8. The poor device has had its specs and pictures leaked out faster and more widespread than a celebrity sex tape. In the latest of leaks, GSM Arena have got a scoop on why on earth the HTC One 2014 has got 2 camera lenses on the back instead of the usual 1.
According to a brochure from Telstra (an Aussie telco) the ANHO’s dual camera is not going to go the way of the failed HTC EVO3D, rather the “Duo Camera” is going to be used to perceive depth better and work in tandem to create shallower depth of field pictures that are so popular these days. After the Galaxy S5 showed its selective focus and Nokia wow-ed the world with refocus, this is a very natural reaction from HTC.
If HTC can execute this in a way that taking adjustable shallow depth of field pictures doesn’t require multiple shots and a delay, this could very well be a good thing, even if it IS an Ultrapixel camera.
