If you familiar with current configuration of Microsoft Office suite, then you have already know that there is a version called Office 2013 made for single PC and there is also the subscription-based version called Office 365.
The consumer edition of Office 365 is called Office 365 Home Premium and it is accessible for up to 5 PCs or Macs and selected mobile devices which might be too much for some solo users. Well, Microsoft seems to realized that and has come out with another edition of consumer-level Office 365 to cater such users.
Called the Office 365 Personal, users are able to use it with one PC or Mac and a tablet. Coming sometime in spring, the existing Office 365 Home Premium service will not be phased out but it will be renamed to Office 365 Home instead once the Office 365 Personal is made available to users.
In terms of pricing, the Office 365 Personal carries a monthly fee of USD 6.99 (RM 23) and annual fee of USD 69.99 (RM 229) as compared to the existing Office 365 Home Premium pricing which are listed at USD 9.99 (RM 33) per month and USD 99.99 (RM 327) per year. However, these pricing are applicable only for United States as the pricing of Office 365 in Malaysia are rather different.
That being said, we have yet to receive any info from Microsoft Malaysia regarding Office 365 Personal for our market at the time this article is being written. Since the pricing of Office 365 Home Premium in Malaysia is lower than United States, we expect that the pricing of Office 365 Personal in Malaysia will be lower as well.
Of course, that is depending on whether Microsoft plans to offer Office 365 Personal in Malaysia or else. We’ll keep you updated once we receive any updates regarding Office 365 Personal from the company.
