Love it or hate it, Diablo 3’s Auction House has officially gone offline. The button still exists, but players are unable to buy or list new auctions. All that can happen now is for players to clear existing auctions and reclaim their loot.
A note at the bottom of the window reads: “The Auction House is shutting down. You must claim your items from the Completed tab by 6/24. Existing auctions will complete based on the time remaining.”
As of now, existing auctions will happen as normal. Meaning that the highest bid will still go through, and items with no bids will return to the seller in the Completed tab. Unclaimed gold will also be returned to players in the same place.
If these items go unclaimed after 24 June they will be “consumed by Treasure Goblins, never to be seen again”
This shutdown comes as Blizzard is preparing to launch the Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 next week.
