As you can recall from our initial encounter over here, Astro is working on a new user interface (a.k.a the TV Guide or Electronic Programming Guide) for Astro B.yond customers. Well then, the wait is almost over as the satellite TV provider is ready to deploy the new interface to customers later this month.
Apart from providing fresh new look, the new interface also comes with multilingual setting where users are now able to choose between English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and Tamil as their preferred language for the UI. Additionally, Astro has also included a search engine to the new interface in order to help users browse through Astro’s contents in much more efficient manner.

The update will be deployed in stages starting from 24 February onwards and the exercise is expected to take place through a period of five weeks. Just like previous updates, users are able to download and install this new user interface by putting their Astro B.yond box into standby mode.
This interface will also be made available to Astro IPTV customers but unfortunately, not for NJOI customers at this moment. That being said, NJOI customers are not completely out of the picture though as Astro is currently evaluating the option according to the company’s Chief Innovation Officer, Brian Lenz.
More information regarding Astro B.yond’s new interface are available through www.astro.com.my/epg and from 22 February onwards, such information can be found right from Astro’s Channel 100. Meanwhile, do stay tuned for our own take on the interface coming your way soon.
