The Google Edition of the Galaxy S4, which went on sale in the US just last week, has been the vessel of the first leaks of version 4.3 of the Android operating system. To be known still as Jelly Bean, the leaked screenshots were taken from a Galaxy S4 Google Edition running on a test build of Android 4.3.
On top of that, someone also purchased the S4 Google Edition that was running the test build, and built an Android 4.3 custom ROM that is bootable on standard Galaxy S4 devices with the Snapdragon 600 chipset. GSMarena tested the ROM and reported it to be “fully functional” with minor glitches. The custom ROM cannot be installed via Odin, however, and requires the device to be flashed – which means voiding the warranty. If the promise of a pure Google experience on a Galaxy S4 proves too much to resist, head on to this link to find out how to flash your GS4.
