During the unveiling of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and SmartWatch 2, Sony briefly mentioned an Xperia C device for the Chinese market and if you’ve been wondering what it is and what the device has got to offer, here it is. The Sony Xperia C is a dual-SIM middle upper range Android device that is exclusive to China Unicom, for now.
The Xperia C recently became official on Sony’s official website, showing of some mid range specs. It has a 5” 540 x 960 display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek chipset with 1GB of RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD, packs a 8MP Exmor RS sensor at the back and will be available in black, white and purple only to China Unicom for now, but will be available in other markets at a later stage though, no specific time frame has been given.
On other Xperia news, Sony has already sent out invitations for an event on 4 July 2013 and it’s been widely rumored that it will be the Honami camera phone that packs some pretty amazing things under the hood namely a 20/13MP rear camera with Exmor RS sensor, G Lens, Cybershot and Xenon flash.
Images of the alleged device has been popping out here and there as of late and the latest set of images is what looks like press images of the international version of the smartphone. The renders seems to be in line with the leaks we’ve been seeing so far, showing off a pretty sleek design though unfortunately, it only shows off the front while the Paris invitation shows off part of the side while neatly hiding what we really care about – the camera lens.
More pictures available after the break.
