Like it or not, the brand new Instagram video feature has taken the world by storm. In just 24 hours after its official launch, Instagram Video received 5 million 15-seconds video uploads – if you do the math, takes several years to watch them all. At its highest point, Facebook servers received 40 hours of video footage per minute, possibly thanks to the NBA Finals.
Representatives from Facebook confirmed to CNet the figures, saying that it received so many clips in the first 8 hours that it would take a year to watch every single one. Just to touch on the number of users so you can get a little perspective on the numbers, Instagram has got 130 million active users, so 5 million videos uploaded is equivalent to 3.8% of its population.
