If you followed all the news from E3 2013, you might recall that Microsoft faced a huge backlash from gamers throughout the world due to their used games and online DRM policies for Xbox One especially when Sony announced that PlayStation 4 will not have such policies. Today, those policies are now no more.
Just few hours ago, Microsoft via its official news site have announced that owners of Xbox One will no longer need to go online every 24 hours to authenticate themselves in order to play offline Xbox One games. In addition to that, gamers are also free to trade-in, lend, resell, rent or give away their games as per existing Xbox 360.
While the damage might have been done but at the very least, it is better for Microsoft to react to the demand of gamers right now before it’s too late.
